Ayurved: Ancient Wisdom
For Healthier Tomorrow
Diseases are the entities, which
have developed simultaneously along with the evolution of mankind.
The very first mention of diseases and their various cures are found
right in the most ancient literature of the world originated in the
Indian subcontinent, the four Veda: Rigved, Yajurved, Samaved and
Atharvaved.
Ayurved is considered to be an
upa-ved (sub-scripture) of Athervaved. Ayurved is an ancient science
wherein ‘Ayu’ means life and ‘Veda’ means knowledge. For
centuries together, Ayurved has served millions of people by
offering the complete medical therapy for a vast range of acute as
well as chronic diseases. Ayurved firmly puts forward the theory to
maintain health (preventive medicine). For this purpose, Ayurved has
described in detail "dinacharya" (the daily regimen) as
well as "rutucharya" (seasonal regimen) and "sadwrutta"
(ethical regimen) along with scores of preventive therapeutic
measures.
For curing the diseases, Ayurved
insists on treating and eradicating the root cause of the ailment
instead of satisfying the patient with symptomatic relief.
In contrary to the popular mis-belief,
Ayurved is not a mere alternative therapy but a way of life, which,
if followed religiously, can help one attain a better physical,
emotional, social and spiritual life.
